Description

Photograph of a view of Hollywood Boulevard west from McCadden Place, 1928. The paved road can be seen running from the right foreground into the center background. Multiple-story buildings line both sides of the road, including a ten-story building at right with a pointed tower on top. Automobiles can be seen parked on both sides of the street, while cars are visible driving on the road. Pedestrians and utility poles are visible on the sidewalks. Hills can be seen in the background.; Legible signs include, from left: "Cetoberman Co. Insurance He. 4141", "[...]lossom Chocolate Shop", "[...] O'Brian Sunrise Hardy Comedy", "Hotel Hollywood", and "Auto Park".

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
