Description
Photograph of the St. Georges Hotel in Volcano, 1936. At center a three-story brick building is visible. Each story has five sets of double-doors with windows on them. The second and third stories have balconies with small wooden fences in front. A porch wraps around the first story with a man standing under it on the right. Two automobiles are visible parked in front of the building, while trees are visible to the left and right. A dirt road leads up to the building and curves to the left from the bottom center. A small second building is visible to the left and is obscured by one of the automobiles. Photoprint reads: "Built in 1862 by a Mr. George who named it for himself and added the prefix 'St.'. In 1934 the old place was repaired and with a new coat of paint is still in first class condition".
