Title
Huge crowds surround the All Night And Day Bank on the corner of Spring Street and Sixth Street, April, 1910
Description
Photograph (streetscape) of huge crowds surrounding the All Night And Day Bank on the corner of Spring Street and Sixth Street, April, 1910. Throngs of people are bunched up in front of the bank overflowing down the sidewalks, into the streets, and on sidewalks across the streets. Vehicle traffic such as horse-drawn carriages, early-model cars and bicyclists manage to whittle their way through the commotion. The bank "closed Oct. 10, 1910 and reopened again later in the month." Picture file card reads: "run on All Night and Day Bank".; Legible signs include: "Security building, Security Savings Bank", "Ral[...] grocer[...]", "Lissner bldg.", "for rent", "Library Bureau, originators of the card system", "Adolf Frese Optical Co.", "here is Frese Optical Co., we make your eyes smile!, eyes tested, glasses fitted, 546 S. Spring", "R.D. Bronson Desk Co., two top floors, something new in desk", "entrance 542 S. Spring", "Howe Bro's, we moved to our new building, 117-119 West 6th Street when completed, about April 20th", "All Night and Day Bank, bank open all night and day, 6th and Spring, ", "shoes". "Pierce + Co. Kodaks" has been edited into the image to make it look like a store sign on the third building to the left of the bank. "Pierce & Co., Kodaks, 127" has been edited into the image to make it look like a store sign on the adjacent building to the right of the bank.
