Description
Photograph of a drawing by Edward Vischer depicting the "El Aliso" Winery (formerly the Vignes Winery in Los Angeles) taken by photographer Edward Vischer, before 1875. A load of wooden barrels are lined-up next to a cart, to the left of a large tree which stands at center. In the background, a complex of stables and tin-roofed shacks surrounds the courtyard in which the tree is planted. To the tree's right, a group of three people stand around a sequestered barrel. Text below the image identifies the area. This winery was first owned by Vischer prior to 1875, then owned by Sansarian and then Milo and Zobelein.
