Description
Photograph of an irrigation canal and horse-drawn carriages next to a residence near Brawley, ca.1910. The narrow, murky canal flows from the center foreground to the left distance. Short plants grow on the edges of both banks in the foreground while tall trees stand over the water in the background. Men drive three horse-drawn carriages on the dusty ground on the right side of the canal while another man sits on a lightly-colored horse on the far right. Several unharnessed horses stand in pens with fields of grass just around the large house behind the men at center. Trees grow in rows on the right side of the house.
