Description
Photographic portrait of grape-pickers on Hastings Ranch, near Pasadena, California, ca.1898. Workers in long-sleeved shirts and hats are posed in a group in front of grape vines and crates of collected grapes with men hauling more crates through the vineyard on horse-drawn carts behind them. To the right, a man with a white beard is seated among the other workers, while a man in a dark coat and more formal hat stands nearby. To the left, the workers stand near a mule.
