Description
Photograph of a man standing in front of the "Queen of the Forest", a fallen sequoia tree, ca.1900-1930. A man in a dark suit, bow tie and hat stands on the left in front of a tall, wire fence which protest the long, grooved trunk of the fallen sequoia tree at center. A short, wooden staircase is shaded by a thin tree on the far left as it reaches the yard of tall grass and trees above the sequoia. On the fields edge on the right a sign reads "Queen of the Forest, Sequoia Gigantea, Age About 3000 Years". A large, jagged boulder stands in the dirt path in the foreground with short, dark bushes on the far right.
