Description
Photograph of a view of a Shriner's Parade on Broadway looking north from Seventh Street, ca.1925. Broadway is a wide paved street at center that heads away from the viewer. There are two sets of streetcar tracks running down the middle of the road, and a large streetcar is in the foreground at right. There are many early-model automobiles along the sides of the road, and the sidewalks that border the street are packed with pedestrians. There are American Flags hanging from wires hung over the streets, and large buildings line the roadway. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Wilshire Boulevard Santa Monica Bay District Beach Road North", "San Diego Coast Route Whittier Santa Ana Oceanside La Jolla", "E", "Go", "Left Turn Prohibited", "Pedestrian Safety Zone", "Bank of [?]", "Dentists Open Evenings", and "The Sun Drug Co.".
