Description
Photograph of a view of Main Street in Grass Valley, ca.1930. The street is lined with electrical poles and stores which stand on raised sidewalks on either side. The Red & White Store can be seen on the far right displaying goods in the front window under the darkly-colored awning while the Italian American Grocery sits in a lightly-colored building just to the right. The stores continue down the street where automobiles can be seen parked next to the sidewalk. A large sign for a garage can be seen on the left while most other buildings on the left appear to be unmarked. The street bends to the right in the distance.; Picture file card reads "A view of Main Street which is not the main street any longer as traffic has almost vanished, going through Marysville, 29 miles to the west leaving Grass Valley on an almost forgotten side road".
