Description
Photograph of a view of Castle Rock on the beach in Pacific Palisades showing Pacific Coast Highway, 1924. The large rock formation is at left and sticks out into the ocean from a promontory at center. Pacific Coast Highway is a paved, two-lane road that follows the contours of the coast at center. Several early-model automobiles can be seen moving along the road. At right, a large bushy hillside can be seen. The remains of an old county road to avoid sand sock can be seen on the hill. The Santa Monica Mountains are visible in the background.
