Photograph of Foothill Boulevard at Monrovia Canyon Creek after widening, 1929. The four-lane road runs from the foreground at right to the background at center. It crosses a short bridge at center over the creek. Three solid lines divide the road into lans. An automobile is visible in the leftmost lane in the background. Several large trees can be seen around the road, while buildings are visible in the background at left. Tall mountains can be seen in the distance at right.

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
