Description

Photograph of a man sitting at a workbench, in front of a weighing scale, [s.d.]. In the left foreground, a man can be seen with a weighing scale. The man can be seen wearing a white rolled sleeve shirt. He can be seen holding a set of tweezers, and seems to be weighing small metal objects with the scale, placing them on the scale's right platform. The scale's left platform holds a metal bowl. In the right foreground, three small implements can be seen on the workbench, as well as a cutting board. Two shelves can be seen attached to the wall, behind the scale. A paper list can be seen tacked onto the lower shelf, and a partially obscured picture of a man holding a woman can be seen tacked onto the wall, to the right of the lower shelf.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
