Description
Photograph of an unidentified oil well, showing a body of water in the foreground, ca.1930. The glass-like water lies is bordered by mounds of dirt in the foreground as it reflects the work site on the far bank. A tall, metal derrick stands on the right with flimsy, wooden paneling covering its base. Several small, wooden structures surround the base while a platform of machinery protrudes from the base's right side. Four tall, darkly colored pipes extend from large, connected apparatuses on the left while a brick wall stands on the water's edge in front of them.
