Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Nadeau Hotel on the corner of Spring Street and First Street, [s.d.]. The four story hotel can be seen at center and features arched windows around the perimeter of the structure on the second floor and up. Awnings cover the windows of the first floor, and doorways can be seen at center. Two fire escapes are visible on the front of the building, reaching from the second floor to the roof. a smaller building can be seen to the left of the hotel. A sign on the first level of the two story building to the left of the hotel reads, "cafeteria". A sign posted next to the "Nadeau Hotel" entrance sign reads "Misfit Clothing Store", on the first story. In the foreground, several early-model automobiles can be seen parked on the street, in the right corner of the photograph. Several people can be seen walking on the sidewalk outside of the hotel. Compares to CHS-49932.

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
