Description
Photograph of three men working to hang the bells during the reconstruction of the Mission San Juan Capistrano (under Reverend John O'Sullivan), [s.d.]. Two men stand on either side of a large bell, as another man holding a rope stands on a ladder beneath them. The bell hangs from a large arched opening in an aging brick wall, left of another opening bearing a hanging bell. Below, patches of overgrown grass sprout from the ground.

The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
