Description
Photograph of mission San Juan Capistrano during reconstruction under Reverend John O'Sullivan, [s.d.]. The side of the mission house can be seen behind an old brick wall, at center. A ladder leans against the first building, which has several rectangular windows at its side, and a large open window at its front, as well as a chimney on its roof. Behind this, another structure extends. In the foreground, a tangle of foliage can be seen before a wire fence.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
