Description
Photograph of a trolley car passing along a large building, ca.1930. At center, a large rectangular trolley is seen moving along a street. Thirteen windows are seen along the side of the trolley, and three large rectangles form the doorway at its center. Several passengers can be seen sitting near the windows of the car. Along the top of the trolley, a large metallic rod is seen extending to a group of wires above. Below the trolley, four wheels can be seen from the side supporting the structure. In the extreme background, a large building with several windows can be seen. To the right, two small figures are visible.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
