Description
Photograph of painting of "Old Ironsides" under full sail, [s.d]. At center, the large vessel is seen moving through the choppy ocean waves. A white stripe lines the ship, and sixteen cannons can be seen protruding from the side of the vessel. A wooden border surrounds the upper deck, and several rope ladders can be seen connecting the deck to the mast platforms above. Three masts line along the body of the ship, and each upper portion of the mast supports four square sails. Three additional sails can be seen along the bases of the masts, and four side sails are visible next to the two rightmost masts. A smaller mast is also seen near the bow of the ship titled greatly. Three triangular sails are visible extending from this frontal mast. In the foreground, large choppy waves are seen beating against the ship. A dark, shaded sky fills the background.
