Description
Photograph of aerial view of U.S. Coast Guard ship in ocean, ca.1937. At center, a large United States Coast Guard ship can be seen moving through the ocean. From the aerial view, the body of the ship appears perfectly elliptical. Near the bow of the ship, two hexagonal platforms can be seen on deck. Mounted artillery cannons are visible on these platforms. At the center of the ship, a smokestack and mast sit adjacent to the ship's navigation cabin. To the left, a small lifeboat can be seen hanging on the side of the vessel. Near the stern, various objects are spread across the large, open deck. In the background behind the ship, frothing water and waves are visible.
