Description
Photograph of a boy in what may be a dance costume, ca.1930. The boy stands at center leaning towards the foreground from the lightly-colored wall behind him with both hands in the air and his mouth shaped as an "O". His dark hair is finely combed and his loose, shiny shirt is tucked into his tight, lightly-colored pants. Scuffs can be seen in his bright, lightly-colored shoes as he steps forward with his right foot.

Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
