Description
Photograph of Amoco Tower, showing American Olive Company is in background, 1904. At center, a large rectangular tower is visible sitting adjacent to several railroad tracks. Long rectangular windows can be seen on each face of the tower, and four small windows are visible beneath the roof on each side. On the left face of the building, a large doorway is visible next to a small stairwell. Although the base of the tower's roof is also rectangular, sections of the slanted roof extend far beyond the walls of the tower. A small steel pipe is seen near the top of the building's roof. In the background to the left, a small chest is seen on a dirt path. To the right, a small fence runs parallel to a group of utility poles running to the right. In the extreme background on both sides, several large buildings are visible. A description on the back of the photograph reads: "Amoco tower is at Long Beach Avenue and 25th St. Steel span tower is now in service there. American Olive Co. in background. 1904".
