Description
Photograph of angled portside view of "Old Ironsides", the Constitution, ca.1900-1910. At center, the large U.S. vessel named "Old Ironsides" is seen moving through the ocean. On the ship's stern, an emblem in the shape of an eagle surrounded by stars is visible. Below the emblem, a row of windows can be seen with the word "Constitution" written below. A small boat is also seen hanging near this emblem over the side of the boat. A white stripe lines the side of the boat, and several cannon hatches can be seen near the center of the ship's hull. On the deck, several wide rope ladders are visible connecting to the mast platforms above. Three masts are located on the ship, and each mast supports a minimum of four sails. A few angled sails are seen near the bases of the masts, and a large square sail is open near the stern of the ship. Also, a large American flag can be seen waving in the wind near the stern's sail. Description on the bottom of the photograph reads: "Old Ironsides".
