Description
Photograph of a panoramic view of the Beverly Wilshire Apartment Hotel under construction, ca.1923-1924. The Beverly Wilshire Apartment Hotel sits at center, under construction. Only a few windows are in place, but the brick walls on the four visible floors are completed, and the ground level's archways are ornately decorated. Scaffolding is visible at the upper edge of the image. Rows of people, seemingly workers and foremen, are posed in front of the building, across the width of the image. Just behind them is a low fence that reads "The Beverly Wilshire. 8 story Class A Steel Frame Apartment Hotel. [Walter] G. McCarty Corporation". A sign on the fence bears a rendering of the completed building, as well as the text "Beverly Wilshire Apartment Hotel. The Walter G. McCarty Corporation". Another sign to the left of the building reads "Walter G. McCarty Corporation Realtors". Houses are visible in the right background.
