Description
Photograph of an artist's conception of how the new jet age terminal at Los Angeles International Airport will appear from the air after the $50 million terminal is completed and in operation, in May 1961. From the photoprint's backside: "The entrance to the terminal area is dominated by the 172 foot high administration-control tower building. The ultra-modernistic theme structure, with a sky-high restaurant and observation deck, is located in the center of the 5000 car capacity parking lot. When completed, the new complex will consist of six ticketing and seven satellite buildings, with space reserved for one additional ticketing and satellite building when needed in the future." Picture shows the parabolic arches right of center, surrounded by parking lots on both sides, and the airplanes around round stations on both sides of the area. In the foreground is a road that winds from center right down center left and turns into the airport. Two main thoroughfares run parallel on opposite ends of the parking lots.; Photoprint reads: "Artist's conception of how the new jet age terminal at Los Angeles International Airport will appear from the air after the $50 million terminal is completed and in operation. The entrance to the terminal area is dominated by the 172 foot high administration-control tower building. The ultra-modernistic theme structure, with a sky-high restaurant and observation deck, is located in the center of the 5000 car capacity parking lot.
