Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Santa Barbara, taken from one of the Mission towers, ca.1903. The part of the city pictured is mostly composed of houses and churches, which are identified by their spires. Mixed in with these buildings are many trees and an extensive network of utility poles. Despite the large number of houses, there are no roads visible. In the distance, across the water, two of the Channel Islands are visible under the clouds.
