Description
Photograph from refugees from the fire that followed San Francisco's earthquake, April 18, 1906. The many refugees are in the foreground on a grassy hill, most of them with trunks holding their belongings. The smoke from the fire is visible in the distance behind a row of buildings. One of the buildings on the right side is a tall building with a conical tower. There is a flat roofed building on the left. There are shops on the right with signs that read "Wilson Whiskey" and "Malto Coca".
