Description
Photograph of a view of a salt mine, California, ca.1910. Mining cars travel back and forth over rails that have been built over a wooden platform that extends out over the marsh. A large pile of salt is visible in the lower left hand corner, below the mining tracks. An a-frame overhang is visible connected to the tracks at the center right, from which wires hang. Salt deposits line all of the equipment. Mountains are visible in the background.
