Title "Wedding of the rails", showing men in costume on a train, 1926
Description Photograph of "Wedding of the rails", a re-enactment of the ceremony celebrating the connection of Los Angeles and San Francisco by the Southern Pacific Railroad, showing men in costume on a train, 1926. The crowd of finely-dressed people looks towards the right in the foreground while train number thirty-eight stands at center. Men dressed in suits, cowboy costumes and Mexican costumes stand on a platform of the train, one with a guitar in hand. The conductor peers out of a large window on the left while several men stand at the front of the train on the right. Trees stand in the background and hills stand in the distance.
