Description
Photograph of a cemetery containing the grave of trapper and wilderness guide, Kit Carson, Taos, New Mexico, 1932. A small cemetery is shown in a close shot, with two headstones visible to the left behind wrought-iron fencing (the rightmost of which is Carson's), and a freshly made grave still showing its mound to the right, outside of the fence, on which a shield-shaped plaque hangs. Trees are visible in the background. The surrounding ground appears to be dry and grassless. The grave is apparently contained within an Indian pueblo.
