Description
Photograph of San Francisco earthquake damage, showing a crowd in front of the ruins of City Hall, 1906. Bricks and slabs of wood lie in a large pile across the foreground. A crowd of people, some in a horse-drawn carriage, observe the damage from a driveway at center. Edges of the walls of the City Hall Building have crumbled on the right and left. The exterior of the dome tower has crumbled leaving its interior frame exposed at center. The statue depicting a woman holding a flame still stands in tact on top of the dome.
