Description

Photograph of an exterior view of Hall Scott Motor Car Company, ca.1925. A two story brick building with eight windows on the second level and seven on the first level sits in the center. The entrance to the building juts out of the building forming an ornamental archway in the left background. Small bushes line the front of the building while a sidewalk sits in front with a telephone pole on the left. A driveway to the right is protected by a two gate fence.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
