Description

Photograph of an aerial view of the Mack Motor Truck Company in Los Angeles, ca.1925. A small water tower with the word "Mack" written vertically along its side sits on top of a rectangular building with a flat roof. The building seems to have a courtyard in the center while a building with lines on the roof extends out of the main two story edifice. Straight and rectangular blocks with wide streets and houses surround the company.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
