Description
Photograph of San Francisco earthquake damage, showing ruins of the Crocker Mansion on Nob Hill -- one of the most famous and imposing of the millionaire's residences, 1906. A brick road lies in the foreground with the fenced property of the wrecked mansion behind it. Bricks spill over the jagged staircase at center which leads to the bunt remains of the large, stone mansion. Only small portions of the walls still stand throughout the remains that continue towards the left. Two damaged skyscrapers can be seen in the distance on the far right.
