Description

Photograph of flood damage on a road, ca.1930. A cement road lies crumbled on the left, damp from the puddle of dim water on the right. The intersecting roadway from a street on the hill above has crashed into the water at center. Two men stand on top of the hill looking down at the wreckage with their automobiles parked next to the grass in the background at center. Trees stand on the hills just behind him.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
