Description
Photograph of an illustration depicting San Francisco's Kearny Street from the Chronicle Building, ca.1890. The street is lined with an assortment of Victorian shops, most of which are three or four stories high. There are many pedestrians on the sidewalk in the foreground standing near ornate streetlamps. In the street on the right side of the image is a horse-drawn streetcar. In the foreground on the right is the façade of the Chronicle Building, which is dominated by a doorway flanked by two Romanesque marble columns. Legible signs include, from left, "Dentist", and "Chronicle".
