Description
Photograph of four men among the ruins of the Mission San Juan Capistrano, 1886. At center a man wearing a long poncho, who the picture file card identifies as "El Chaps", stands with his hat in his left hand, pointing off to the left with his right. To the right of him, Senor Lopez can be seen kneeling in what looks like a work suit of some kind. In the background, two more figures can be seen at the right and left, wearing hats as well as ponchos. One of these men is identified as Manuel Yorba, although which one is uncertain. In the background, the ruins of the mission features bells to the left, and crumbling adobe walls all around.
