Description
Photograph of the entrance to adobe homes (completed in 1849) of Don Ramundo Olivas on Rancho San Miguel between Ventura and Oxnard, 1900. The entrance features a multicurved parapet wall with a bell situated inside the arched opening at the top. Below, a large opening guarded by a wooden gate serves as the entrance. At the top of the double-door gates are two carved ducks facing each other. Two large trees stand next to the entrance just outside of the gates.
