Description
Photograph of a view of the Pulpit Rock, a natural rock formation located near the mouth of Echo Canyon, Echo City, Utah, ca.1900-1930. The top of the rock formation is flat. The main portion of the rock is supported by a narrower piece below it. At right is an overhanging cliff. Scrub grass sparsely covers the hilly area near the cliff and the rock. A house (or barn?) is visible in the distance. "The Pulpit, at the mouth of Echo Canyon, photographed by William Jackson, 1870. This unique formation was later dynamited to make way for the railroad and highway." -- unknown author. Picture file card reads: "Pulpit and Henning Rock. Mouth of Echo Canyon, N.P.R.R."
