Description
Photograph of two Pima Indian pottery makers on their way to market, ca.1892. The two women are at center and are looking directly at the camera. The woman on the left is kneeling on the ground and is holding a large basket full of pots on her shoulders. She has a cane in her hand at right. She is wearing a light shirt and dress with dark spots. The woman at right is standing and holding a baby in front of her. She also has a large basket full of pots on her back. She is wearing a dark patterned dress and her child is wearing a light hooded outfit. The Indians are indoors, and the wall behind them is painted with images of plants and palm trees.
