Description
Photograph of a view of the sweet pea field at Bodger seed farm, 350 acres producing 27 tons of seeds, in Gardena Valley (later, Hawthorn, CA), ca.1905. The field is covered with tall-stalk flowers. Buildings are sparsely scattered across the landscape in the distance. Trees are visible in the distance. "The fields were put in as a tourist attraction." -- unknown author.
Originally, the photograph was captioned as "View of the sweet pea field (possibly at Bodger seed farm), at Redondo Beach, looking east from the Redondo Hotel, ca.1904-1920".
