Description
Photograph of the exterior view of Mission San Luis Rey de Francia from the west, California, 1900. The long lines of ruined stone arches, formerly enclosing a courtyard, dominate this view. The mission church side is visible beyond the arches. The top of the bell tower is also visible. The surrounding countryside is grassy but devoid of other buildings or trees other than those on the mission grounds.
