Description
Photograph of Father Pejol standing by the bells at Camulos ranch, ca.1892-1895. The three bells are suspended in a bare wooden frame adjacent to a picket fence behind which a cross grave marker is visible. One of the larger bells is cracked. Spoken of by Ramona, the Indian made famous in the novel of the same name by Helen Hunt Jackson whom he met on her visit to the Coronel home. He is from the Ventura Mission.
