Description
Photograph of a view of Third Street after it was widened from sixty to eighty feet and its grade was lowered, May 20, 1932. The newly widened road runs from the foreground to the background at center, where it disappears in a tunnel. Streetcar tracks can be seen in the middle of the street, and several automobiles can be seen driving in the middle of the road. Large buildings line both sides of the street, and a network of utility wires can be seen overhead. Compares to USC-0-1-1-507, which shows the same angle.; Legible signs include, from left: "Garage", "Delmar", and "Open Modernized Low Weekly Rates".
