Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a Paiute Indian hut near Bishop in Inyo County, ca.1905. The hut is crudely constructed of small vertical tree branches held together by larger horizontal branches. There is a stone chimney at left and a narrow open doorway at center. The roof is covered in straw. There is an Indian man sitting in front of the building at center and he is wearing a hat, long-sleeved shirt, and pants with the bottoms rolled up. He has a beard and a mustache and his hands are resting in his lap.
