Content EXT. CAFE. AFTERNOON
A sidewalk cafe on a New York Street.  The long dark hair,
and bare shoulders of a girl, JEANNE seated visibly before us
occupies our attention.  Tattoos on the back.  She sits
facing the street, and we can see pedestrians pass her by,
glancing her way. A Yellow Taxi pulls up. She stands and we
rise with her.
A young man steps out of the taxi, shuts the door, and
immediately notices her.
MAN
What the fuck is that?
She turns briefly in our direction and we see her face for
the first time, something ON HER FACE.
MAN (CONT’D)
No Jeane. What the fuck is on your
face?
He takes a seat, and she sits back down on cue.  These two
are comfortable, they’re brother and sister.
JEANE
A Mistake is on my face. It’s a
mistake.
Jeane looks at her brother. A WHITE CAST covers her nose, and
most of her right cheek beneath the eye.
JEANE (CONT.) (CONT’D)
He miss-fired and hit my nose, and
broke it, it’s no big deal, he just
broke it.
MAN
You’re an idiot
MAN (O.S.) (CONT’D)
You’re spectacular
Her brother turns in the direction of the other.
A man looking like a detective is seated at their table.
BROTHER
Who are you?
MAN
I’m her stalker
BROTHER (TO JEANE)
Your what?
JEANE
My Stalker.
STALKER (TO JEANE)
Jeanne I have to tell you
something.
JEANE
It was part of a project, I hired a
stalker, he did a great job
STALKER
Thank You darling
JEANE (CONT’D)
But now he just continues to stalk
me.
STALKER
It’s my job :)
He snaps a photo
JEANE (CONT’D)
I don’t think he realizes it’s over
STALKER
It’s not over!
JEANE
It is over!
The other patrons look in their direction
STALKER
You saw that. See? You all saw
that. It’s working honey. My public
display of affection everyone.
JEANE
You’re being ridiculous.
JEANE (TO BROTHER) (CONT’D)
Come on let’s go.
STALKER
No no don’t go. You don’t have to
go.  I’m sorry darling. I’ll go
back across the street.

He sadly retreats and goes across the street, and takes a
position against a pole, with a newspaper to conceal him. A
thumbs up? no response.
Jeane removes a bottle of pills from her purse, and takes
one.
BROTHER
What is that?
JEANE
Pain killers.  It really hurts.
BROTHER
Wow. Did I come at a bad time?
JEANE
Yeah.
They both smile at each-other.
(CONT’D)
