Description
Photograph of a view of the pueblo of Acoma from the roof of the old church showing the bell tower and Mesa Encantada, ca.1896. The buildings of the pueblo can be seen at left beyond the ruins of the bell tower at right. A person can be seen looking through an opening on the bell tower, while a second person appears to be inside the bell tower and is partially visible from behind. Mesa Encantada is visible in the center background, while other mountains are visible in the distance. Ladders and steps provide access to the three or so levels of the pueblo.
