Title
Fiesta de San Esteban (Saint Stephen), Acoma Pueblo, ca.1900
Description
Photograph of the Fiesta de San Esteban (Saint Stephen), Acoma Pueblo, ca.1900. The dozen or so Acoma Indians are wearing traditional garments including elaborate head pieces. They carry goard instruments and feathers in their hands as they dance. The building behind the dancers is made of adobe with exposed wood tail rafters. Ladders lean against the long building at intervals. A large tree grows at center. Some people observe from the roof. The dancers are dancing in a procession along the road next to the building.
