Description
Photograph of a Franciscan monk standing by an intricately decorated wood panel at Mission Santa Barbara, California, ca.1901-1908. To the right, the monk can be seen wearing a craftsman's apron over his cassock. The panel leans against an exterior wall of mortared stone. Symmetric floral designs cover the front of the panel. The wood panel is the wood-carver's own work.
