Description
Photograph of a Pima Indian man, Ho-Dutch, sitting in front of his native dwelling, or "Kan", Pima, Arizona, ca.1900. He sits on the ground crosslegged and barefooted with a cloth wrapped around his head. Behind him stands the inverted lopped-off-cone-shaped dwelling with thatched walls and roof impregnated with mud. A pottery jar and several pails sit near the framed entry. A washboard lays against the dwelling at left. A blanket lays in front of him near which sit an overturned bowl on a ring and a grinding stone.
