Description
Photographic portrait of Louis L. Nordlinger, ca.1900. He is pictured slightly to the right of center and is shown from his head to his upper torso. His head is tilted a bit to the left. He is wearing a dark suit, vest, and tie, as well as a white shirt. He has thin-rimmed circular glasses and has a receding hairline. His thin hair and narrow face makes his large ears stand out. Nordlinger was the son of Simon Nordlinger, a pioneer Los Angeles jeweler whose advertisement appears in 1872 Los Angeles City and County Directory, page V. He joined his father in the business, which was known as S. Nordlinger & Sons. The second son was Melville Nordlinger.
